Released at the beginning of August 2012 in response to Clinique's Chubby Stick, this is the budget version, and according to Sue Jordan (www.cherrysuedointhedo.com) the Revlon offering lasts longer on the lips than its more upscale counterpart.
Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain 005 Crush |
This Balm stain is exactly that. A stainy balm. It is vaguely minty flavoured that puts some off, I don't mind it so much, and it stains like a pro. With Crush, you can vary the depth of colour you achieve. Lash it on with wild abandon and get a gorgeous deep berry/wine colour. Use it with a much lighter hand and you get a very pretty fuchsia stain. And the colour lasts for a good 4 hours, without drying out lips.
But I am embracing the deep colours of the cooler seasons, going so far as to update my hair colour and lash on Crush to complement its dark chocolatey colour.
I got mine in Boots on offer (I paid just over €8 for mine), RRP is around the €12 mark. And considering that this lasts and lasts and lasts, and you only need to re-apply once or twice during the day, this is a fair and reasonable price.
Also, you don't need a mirror to reapply, application is a synch if the weather is warm but this will drag a bit of its cold, and lips do need to be in a vaguely good condition, because as the balm wears off the stain does tend to stick to flaky bits. So keep this in mind and you will be just fine.
Mine travels with me everywhere at the moment and even a subtle slick of this with a bit of mascara gives a nice look.
Adore these, although I don't have this colour *yet!:)
