I have binned ALL of my cardboard nail files / emery boards in favour of this one. I don't know why I didn't buy myself one earlier. Its awesome.
Available in Marks and Spencer stores for €17 /£12.50 this is worth the spend. It is going to last you ages, it isn't going to harbour bacteria/germs that will damage/infect the nail, and it does a blaahdy great job of smoothing hooks and rough edges. It also files nails down in a jiffy.
Says the blurb on Leighton's website:
"The CRYSTAL NAIL FILE is an award-winning must-have from Leighton Denny - it has been carefully treated so it simply turns the nail edge to dust.Traditional nail files can leave the nail edge rough or uneven, but the CRYSTAL FILE smooths the nail completely, sealing it, leaving not a trace of a split or catch. The filing surface comes with a lifetime guarantee for 25 years. The small CRYSTAL NAIL FILE comes in a protective aluminium case so it's handbag and travel friendly"
Now I am am not entirely sold on the very ambiguous "guarantee", but I am sold on everything else. It does exactly what is says and it does it rather well. Wash it in warm water and soap, dry it on a towel and use it again and again. It hasn't gotten any baldy patches on it and I have used it loads since Christmas Day. Its good. In my opinion, Leighton Denny's Crystal Nail File, in conjunction with a good cuticle oil and being more careful with my nails has helped them to stop peeling and breaking so easily.
I think this is one of those things that I will be getting as presents for friends. And I will be getting my Daughter her own one too, as soon as she stops biting them...
If you are still using cheapo nail files, bin them and treat yourself to a decent nail file that is going to do your nails a bit of good, you will thank me.
Ps: Happy Valentines Day
