According to Karen, “Winning the face of Tempted in 2013 boosted my self-confidence greatly and inspired me to wear different styles and colours of clothing. Tempted Boutique has an amazing owner and staff who were absolutely fantastic to work with. It has been a truly great year with lots of different opportunities and experiences. Good luck to all entering the Face of Tempted this year. Go for it girls ”.
Fashion is important to women of all sizes and shapes, and it is crazy that larger women are barely represented in fashion media and marketing, Rosemary Kearns says. “The average Irish woman is a 14-16 dress size, and yet most catwalk models are a size six to eight. Magazine fashion shoots also feature beautiful clothes on overly slim models, so that most women cannot actually relate to the look at all. Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, and the fashion industry is only now beginning to cater for fashionable young women who are deemed plus-size, but are actually just average”, the champion of curvy fashion says.
The Tempted model competition, which is likely to attract 1,000 entries this year, will be judged by leading fashion stylist Cathy O'Connor, curvy model and model agency boss, Vicki Mooney, fashion photographer Maria McGrail, and Rosemary Kearns, the Tempted owner.
Established by Rosemary Kearns in 2003, Tempted now has boutiques in Raheny in Dublin and in Wexford town. Selling gorgeous, fashionable plus-size women’s clothing for stylish young women, Tempted is one of the few Irish stores with beautiful, on-trend clothes for the size 16+ market.
Specialising in both stunning dresses and separates, Tempted stocks both classic and up-to-the-minute designs, and is a one-stop shop for the style conscious, with highly-affordable knitwear, jackets, jewellery and belts also stocked. Many of their designs are exclusive to them in Ireland in curvy sizes, and exclusive doesn’t mean expensive!
