Best of Beauty Blogger Challenge: Hair Heroes

This is part two (of eight) of Samantha's Best of Beauty Blog Challenge, and today's post is all about Hair. I should probably do more with my hair, but it takes so long to do anything half decent with it. Yes. I am am just plain Lazy.

I do love that I have loads of hair, and the strands are thick and healthy, but I don't really do too much with it, bar straightening it every now and again if I have somewhere special to go.

It seems like L'Oreal is my Hair Hero, because these two products are things that I wouldn't be without. Shampoos and Conditioners come and go, but I love this duo from L'Oreal. I have professed my love for both of these products and I already have replacements for both in my stash.

L'Oreal EverSleek Absolute Smooth Intense Mask smells like a salon product and it gives a great result. I use this once a week, and since I started using this I feel like I don't need to use conditioner every time I shampoo my hair. And I am not using salon shampoo, I am using good old cheapo Pantene. You only need a little, and I only put this through the mid-lengths and ends of my hair, leave it to work for a few minutes while I am cleaning the rest of myself in the shower and then rinse it out. It does take a little rinsing to make sure it does rinse out completely, but the results are worth it: I have less split ends because my hair dries so much quicker, my hair is smoother and is just more manageable.

This hair mask is widely available and is worth the €10+ price tag, but keep a look out for offers to save a few euros.

L'Oreal Elnet Heat Protect Spray Straight 3 Days is my secret weapon. I don't just use it when I straighten my hair (I only straighten my hair once a month if its lucky), I use it as a leave in conditioner when I wash my hair. A few spritzes of this over damp hair, I work it through the lengths just with my fingers and then I roll/curl/smoosh my hair up into a rough bun on the top of my head and clip it out of the way with one or more of those clips. Then when I go to bed I take the clip out and leave it as it falls, to wake up the next morning with textured, wavy hair. I love it.

The clips are also my hair heroes. I cannot stand having to faff with hair falling in my face, so more often than not you will find my hair up and out of the way. My hair only comes down when I sleep and for very special occasions. I have a good few of these and I would be lost without them.

Samantha has a list of all the other Bloggers taking part in the Best Of Beauty Blog Challenge on her baby: All The Buzz, and you can follow the rest of the chatter on twitter with the  #BOBBlogChallenge !

Am I missing a trick here? Should I spend more time on my hair, or are you like me and do the bare minimum?

    1. I haven't tried the Hair spray Sarah, I haven't used hair spray in years, so it is on my list as it made the grade in a good few of the Hair Heroes posts.

  5. you're so lucky you don't have to do much with your hair, I do tend to throw mine up for work and do make more of an effort when needs be like you..I've to get a few of those clips actually, fiddling with bobby pins and having long acrylic nails don't work well together ;)

    1. the down side to not doing anything with my hair means that my hair doesn't keep a curl! The waves happen kind of on their own, but a curl???? I'd be so lucky.

    1. It is a good one down the lengths and ends of the hair, but I think using it too often would leave roots a bit greasy! I am so glad you like the Surya Brasil colour/treatment. I must pick up another box as my hair could use a bit of colour again....

    2. Maybe if I pick it up and just use it once a week, that would work. My hair is a bit wild this week after being out in the rain and wind.

The Surya Brasil henna cream is great, so glad you wrote that review! What colour will you get this time? I've seen it in lots of health food shops now so it's a bit easier to buy. :-)

    1. I haven't tried Ever Riche range at all, as I was worried it would leave me like a grease ball! But the ever sleek is rich enough to smooth and nourish, but light enough not to weigh my hair down or leave it too oily.
