Neostrata Enlighten Illuminating Serum: Impressive

In my quest to have an even skintone with no pigmentation marks I working my way through every lotion/potion aimed at those problems. I've trialed the Vichy Idealiá Pro Deep Corrector Serum and the YSL Forever Light Creator Serum and now I am stuck into this Neostrata Enlighten Illuminating Serum, the second step in the Neostrata Enlighten Trio. The first step is Ultra Brightening Cleanser which gently exfoliates to reduce hyperpigmentation and the Pigment Controller which lightens uneven pigmentation and encourages cell renewal for a fresh complexion is the third step. Neither of which I have. Yet.

The Enlighten Illuminating Serum also contains 12 Active brighteners that target 6 pigment control systems, helping to break up and reduce the appearance of existing pigmentation and discourage new dark spots from forming. Ace. Because this is exactly what I have. The glass 30ml bottle costs €36.68, which is right in the range of Vichy's Idealiá Pro Dark Spot Corrector Serum and La Roche Posay's Redermic Offering.

"Patented NeoGlucosamine™ enhances the natural cell renewal, which causes skin peeling and fading existing skin colour. Potent pigment-reducing peptide inhibits tyrosinase and melanin production and the formulation is enhanced with Liquorice Extract, Vitamin C, 7 Alpine Plant Extracts, and Antioxidant Leaf Extract." That is a mouthful. But I have to say its working much better than the YSL Forever Light Creator did and it is beating the Vichy Idealia Pro Serum: I can see massive improvement after my 4 week trial and I expect improvement to continue as I use this serum up.

After cleansing and toning with my Vichy Eau Thermal Water, One pump of this slightly orange-tinted clear, orange scented gel onto my fingers and smoothed over my face twice a day seems to be making proper headway in breaking up the darker patches of pigmentation on my forehead. At night I follow with the Vichy Idealia Cream, during the day I am using the Avéne Hydrance Optimal Legere because it has a nice SPF in it. And then I follow with my Make-up, which also contains SPF.

The serum is very light on the skin. If you use too much it will leave a tacky feeling on your skin and this can lead to pulling. But a light spritz of "Spa Spray" ( any of the thermal water sprays) before you apply the serum makes is spread and absorb quickly.

I haven't had any spots while trialing this, and I haven't had the peeling action that I expected so it is incredibly gentle. It did sting a little around my nostrils when I had a cold, but it wasn't a prolonged ouchmofogetthisstuffoffmyface sting... it stung for about 3 seconds, then the sting was gone. So not too bad at all. I think Super-duper Sensitive skins will experience the sting, so I would ease into it gently by applying this over a hydrating serum. But ordinary Skin types will love this. My skin looks pretty good.

And like the Vichy trial... I took weekly pictures to monitor progress. No make-up in these pics, just freshly cleansed and moisturised skin. EEP!
The biggest improvement is on my forehead and the areas around my nose. The brown patches have lightened and are getting smaller.

I am seriously impressed with this Serum. It has been 6 weeks now and its looking pretty alright. I recon it would work better/faster if I used the whole range together. But they only sent the Serum... obviously to entice me to buy the Cleanser and Moisturiser. And when one of my current products run out I will step fully into the NeoStrata Fold. I just hope they will like me as much as I like them!

Neostrata Enlighten Illuminating Serum and the rest of the Neostrata Enlighten Range is available from pharmacies and skin clinics.
