Update: A month after the month of using the Vichy Idéalia range

So its 4 weeks since I posted my naked face up on the interwebs for all to see the struggle to remove my hyper-pigmentation, and since then Vichy sent me the Idéalia moisturiser to use in conjunction with the  Vichy Idealia Dark Spot Corrector Serum to see if it would speed up the process...

I was asked if I wanted the formulation for Dry skin or for Normal/Combination skin, and considering the temperatures were reaching well into 25degC during the day and it almost felt like an African Summer... I decided that the lighter formulation for Normal/Combination skin would suit me better.

Available in Boots and most Pharmacies that stock Vichy, the 50ml pot retails at around €28, this little pot is going to last you at least 3 months if my usage is anything to go by.

First, this beautiful pink cream smells divine! Enriched with  Thermal Water, Kombucha, AHAs, Vitamins, Probiotics and Polyphenols, the White Tea extract gives a lovely light, refreshing scent. Vichy have managed to combine the richness of a cream with the lightness of a gel so that this sinks in quickly, with no residue or film left on the skins surface. My skin feels smooth and soft after applying and I don't wake up feeling like a grease-ball.

While I am using the serum in the mornings and the evenings, I am only using the cream at night, mainly because it doesn't have an SPF in it, but I think it is lovely as a night cream. Properly moisturising, without feeling heavy or cloying, I am liking this a whole lot. I am trying to boost hydration in my skin to I am also using the Chamomile Face Balm from Ali Mac after I use the Vichy Serum but before I use the Idealia cream and this little night routine is working rather nicely for me.

Okay so here are some pics so you can see if it has made a difference.

This is from 8 weeks ago, when I started this whole trial:

These are from Sunday Night:

So what do you think? Can you see a difference? I can see that some of the darker patches over my cheeks are a bit lighter and the patches on my forehead are definitely breaking up.

Apart from the Vichy Idealia Moisturiser, vichy also sent me another tube of the serum so that I can carry on with the treatment and really give this a good test. So far so good though!

  2. Looks better :)
Have you been tested to show that it is not tinea versicolor? The history does make it sound like melasma. I would suggest you look into it. I have some discoloration on my skin- and I am now being treated for Tinea by my doctor. Had been putting on antipigmentation cream for years with no results. Turns out, it might be a fungal infection.
