Lush Butter Ball... from the Lush Store, Not the Fridge

We are big Lush fans in this house, Big, HUGE lush fans. So much so that I didn't get a chance to take my own picture of the bladdy thing.

pic from the lush website

Hannah recently turned 8, and I thought this would be a great time to get a few of her "Own" bits. Things that she doesn't have to share with her stinky little brother.  And even though her skin is sensitive and she suffers from eczema, Lush have been surprisingly good for her skin.

Butter Ball (£2.45) is a lovely little thing. Full of super moisturising Shea Butter, bits this is the most hydrating of their Bath Ballistics / Bombs. The ingredient list is teeny: Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Cocoa Butter, Synthetic Musk, Ylang Ylang Oil, Perfume. Awesome.

When you drop this in the bath, it fizzes like mad and immediately the room and the passage and all down the stairs is filled with a lovely heady vanilla-ry scent... and the scent hangs around for a long time after you are done with the bath. And the scent lingers on your skin after you are done in the bath too... a wonderfully warming, relaxing scent. I have heard tell of Butter Balls that have little scent, we have never had this problem and this is our 10th or 11th one.

Butter Ball  contains no glitter, and no colour, the only bit of colour coming from the actual Shea Butter bits, that dissolve in the water, soften it and coat your skin in a lovely envelope of moisture. Just be careful getting out of the bath, it can be super slippy, but at least there is no glitter or colour to try to rinse off the bath.

Hannah and I love Butter Ball so much because her skin feels amazing after her bath and we don't have to drown her in body cream afterwards to rehydrate her skin. And it is one of the few products that doesn't irritate her super sensitive skin.

And as Hannah says: "Also it smells deadly"

I buy my Lush goodies when I am in Newry so I have no idea what the actual Euro price is for this baby, but I can't see it costing more than €3.50, Well worth it if you ask me.

  1. Must give this one a try - the ones with glitter etc look lovely in the bath but are a royal pain to clean afterwards!

  2. This sounds so good! Haven't tried this one but I love vanilla and my skin leans towards the dry so I'll definitely be picking this up next time I'm in lush! x

  3. Gotta love a bit of lush! If you chat to the staff they will let you know which products will be great for Hannahs skin as there is a shocking amount of items that are great for those with delicate skin :)

  4. It's lovely to have your own little bits & pieces at that age. I've never used a Lush one - the glitter is the only thing that puts me off the Pixy ones, there's no need for glitter in a bath product! x
