Most mornings the poor man wakes up to me looking rather a lot like Hermione Granger. Not Emma Watson (as she is now, all sleek and polished). No. No siree. I mean Bushy-haired, frizzy, frazzled Hermione, in the first three Harry Potter movies. Like this:
Hells Bells! Its Hermione! |
And the wonderful man passes no remark. Its one of the reasons I love him. The other is cos he brings me coffee in bed every morning (lucky cow that I am).
But I try to make it up to him by making myself presentable for when he gets home. Like this:

Thankfully it doesn't take too much to smooth my hair down. My straighteners and this teensy bottle of orange-y-scented goodness from Pen 'n Ays Booteek (or Penneys).
This is Hask Argan Oil. For your €2.50, you get a dinky 18mls of product in a plastic, handbag friendly bottle. Perfect for smoothing down fly-aways on the go if that is how you roll. I keep mine next to my mirror where I do my hair. The bottle really is dinky, and gets lost easily, I have 2 or 3 knocking around, I generally pick one up when I get the kids something from Penneys, they are right by the till so look for them there.
see??? its positively Dinky! |
After washing, conditioning and towel-drying my load of hair, I find I only need about a 5c coin sized dribble, which spreads easily through my mids and ends of my hair and smells really lovely while doing it. Then I blow-dry roughly until my hair is 95percent dry and then use the straighteners. It doesn't take too long (about 40 minutes all in all) and I am pretty pleased with the results.
I am just nearing the end of my first bottle and its lasted me a good 3 months of weekly use. Great going if you think about it...
My hair feels soft and smooth and I don't have too many frizzies that seem to stick out like a halo around my crown when I use this and I am crediting this with the good condition that my hair is in, even though it hasn't seen the inside of a salon or a hair-dresser scissors in over 8 months. This doesn't leave my hair feeling oily or weighed down, its a pity the smell doesn't hang around though, cos it really does smell fresh and zingy.
I haven't tried the other oils on the market (I just don't have the budget at the moment with back-to-school- looming large), but I am really enjoying this dinky bottle. And even if you don't like it, it didn't break the bank!
I've been meaning to try this for ages! Your hair looks gowjus missus :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Oh Queen of The Hair Oils! Its small size is perfect for travel and it smells like oranges. Love it!
DeleteYour hair is really lovely! :) I'd love to have thick enough hair to need this!
ReplyDeleteThanks Orla. Its a handful sometimes, but I love my hair!
DeleteWow! i got nowhere near as good a result from this! So far I think the Ojon serum is the best I've tried, moroccanoil, then orofluido, then milkshake argan oil!
ReplyDeleteI use it when my hair is about 80% dry, so it helps seal in a bit of moisture and helps slick things down a bit.
DeleteI love hair oils. That's a little beauty right there... The hair oil isn't bad either. (see what I did there?!) :) x
ReplyDeleteits official: You're a keeper!
DeleteSo I don't want this to sound to lady lusting but you are a proper stunner!! That's all I came here to say :)
