And I managed to get my Husband to pay for them (they were half price and that was the only way I was going to get him to get them for me :) ) : Yay!
New converse... new mani
And wearing them makes me very happy... so I wanted to do a little grungy mani to mark the momentous occasion. I wanted it to be simple but different, nothing too grungy (black is too harsh: I am in my 30's) but nothing too plain either.
Catrice 610 ASHley & C04 Shake It! Flake It!
Catrice 610 ASHley (€2.79/ 10ml) is perfect. It is literally the colour of ash. Perfect for my needs. Two thin coats (one coat is a bit patchy) dries to a semi-matte flat grey, which is a relatively interesting finish and satisfies my inner Indie-Chick. But this is being discontinued. So it you want to get it quick!
Top left: mostly plain, and then when you move your hands the colours flash at you
But plain old grey lacks quirk. And I do like a bit of quirk.
So 2 coats of the Limited Edition (boo) Catrice Million Styles Effect Top Coat C04 Shake It! Flake it! is perfect. In some lights is dam near un-noticeable, but then you turn your hand and your fingertip flare and spark with colour.
like embers on my fingernails
Pretty but subtle, but quirky with Flair! I am really liking this combo. The Flakey top coat really does look fiery in some lights and totally innocuous in others. I am in love with this and can't wait for winter to start wearing it over dark colours...
What do you recon: fire at your finger tips? Human Torch maybe?
