Mani(c) Monday: Yellow + Blue = Green

Some Simple colour mixing today, although I didn't actually have to mix the colours myself this time :)

Thanks to Essence and its fab €1.29 polishes is a plethora of colours, this mani only costs a shade over €5, including the manicure guides!

Starting with 51 Mellow Yellow, I painted two thin coats (allowing each to dry properly) onto my nails and debated just leaving this gorgeous sunshine colour on my nails....

But I already had everything out and all read to go, and I had the time to do it, so I pressed on...

I placed a manicure guide about a third of the way down the nail bed and painted a "not-so-thin" coat of 79 Viva La Green

And before the polish was dry, I removed the guide, carefully, and then let the green dry completely. Thankfully, with the essence polishes, if you paint a medium coat it doesn't take longer than about 6 or 7 minutes to dry.

I used the same guide, (waste not, want not) and placed it fairly gently, about 2 thirds of the way down the nail bed. Don't press too hard...

Then I painted a medium-ish thick coat of 74 Sure Azure onto the lower third of my nail, and carefully lifted the guide again..

And this is what you are left with:

Seal with a good top coat (I used Sally Hansen Insta-Dry) and enjoy your manicure...

For some obscure reason I think of ice-cream when I look at it...
