I love spots. You can use an old biro/pen to do big spots, a bobbypin to do medium sized dots, a small pin head (the not-sharp end) to do small dots and a toothpick to do micro-dots. Or you can get Fancy and buy dotting tools... which I have done and when they arrive my nails will be positively polka-dotted permanently.
But for now, I use whatever I have lying next to me when I do my nails...
I am still showing nude colours much love, even though I know I should be embracing bright (and pastel) spring colours, I just don't seem to be able to keep them looking good on my finger-tips for any period of time. Nudes are great, they look good, they don't clash with anything, they look polished and even when a little chipped or tip worn you can normally get at least another day out of it before you have to redo it.
But when I painted on my beloved Catrice Mona Lisa Is Staring Back €2.79, a lovely pale nude with gold microshimmer (it's so beloved the print is coming off the bottle and there is only about a third left in it), I felt like it needed a bit of a spring kick.
Essence In Style (€1.29 a gorgeous more-blue-than-green blue shimmer polish) jumped into my hand and begged to be used.
So I dotted it in straight lines, a little off center, all the way down my nails.
It looks rather smart, and grown up, without being too boring, too safe or too outrageous. I really liked the effect.
Love this! I will be trying this one out!
