on a relatively new US blog The Beauty Department, and I immediately dug out my polishes to see what I had in my stash to steal the look.
Squee! I had everything I needed. Just as well as this was at 9pm and I was doing to die, DIE I tell you, if I didn't get this onto my nails immediately.
show my hinky-pinkie some love pls... |
This is what I rustled up out of my magic pink bag...
Then I blobbed a bit of Avon Mirror Shine Polish in Gold Foil
onto a spare bit of tin foil (a la Cherry Sue who is my current Nail Art Queen)
and using an old paint brush (that I robbed off my daughter), I carefully painted arches onto my nails
After the gold dried, I blobbed a bit of Avon Matte Polish in Black onto the tin foil ...
and using the paint brush, carefully painted black arches just under the gold ones, like so :
And one that had dried I covered up any bits in the black that had a bit of gold polish shining through
and then finished off with a coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dry to un-mattify the Matte Polish.
I admit I did one hand in the relative dark while watching TV with the hubs and I mucked it up badly so I had to start again. I blame the dark, not the (Mahoosive) Baileys I was drinking at the time. Also I struggled with my pinkies, and I didn't have a nicely rounded brush like they do, but I am pretty damn proud of my effort.
What do you think?
They're absolutely amazing!!! I am in the love and need to try and fail miserably ;) Good work missus :)
