Blue Valentine...

Sue, over at CherrySue Doin' The Do, did a fantastic tutorial on a nice valentines day nail art idea.

I shamelessly stole her idea and changed the colours to suit my mood.

Starting with Two coats of Sally Hansen Miracle Cure as my base, I followed with one coat of  Avon "Perfect Fit" for the base colour. Its a lovely dark blue that will give opacity in one coat if you don't put it on too thinly. Nice.

the funny silver thingy on the blue pot is my NNAT or New Nail Art Tool :)

I discovered that I don't have ANY paperclips in my house, but I did find this yokey-bob-thingy (no idea what it actually is) and it worked just as well to do the pastel blue hearts using Avon "Vintage Blue".

Then I dipped the pointy end of my New Nail Art Tool (or NNAT for short) into Essence's "Choose Me" and randomly dotted it all over the nail and the hearts. See how Choose Me changed its colour over the base and heart colours... interesting.

I waited the regulatory 2 minutes before painting on a layer of Sally Hansen Insta-Dry. This was my first time using it and I am pretty impressed. It really does dry nail varnish in 30 seconds.............. After you wait the two minutes before you apply. It did slightly drag the Avon colours over each other, but as a happy accident I decided I liked the effect.

What do you think? Is it too blue? Is it overkill? Would you only do one nail?
