Black and Gold...

I saw a over on DawnieP's Blog, Inanity and the Girl a few nights ago and I loved the smokey effect she achieved on her lids using a smudged kohl pencil. I loved it so much I decided to try replicate it.

I have small eyes though, so I didn't want to make them look even smaller, so my Storm Sleek Palette came to my rescue, It contains a matte black and a lovely shimmery gold colour that work really, really well together.

I used an old Virgin Vie Black eyeliner to lay down the initial colour (it is soft, black and easy to blend and work with) and then smudged it out and created the general shape that I wanted.

Ear-buds helped clean up where I had smudged "out of the lines". I lay down a nice layer of gold pigment and then used the matte black shadow to create a bit more "drama" on the lash line. Blend blend blend.

I finished with 2 coats of Lash Control Volumising and Conditioning Mascara in 2X Black*

I filled my brows in a bit with a Catrice eye shadow (Starlight), Catrice Photo Finish Foundation, set the whole look with Rimmel's Clear Complexion Clarifying Powder.

Lips are sporting another old Avon Lippie, Ultra Colour Rich Satin Lipstick in Pout, RRP €9.

PS: Happy Valentines Day :)
