zestful zit zapper

I call this guy Frank.

I love Frank. He comes from Eyes Lips Face (or elf) and his 5.6g little roller body of goodness costs a measly £1.50 (excl delivery).

I ordered this on a whim a few weeks ago as I knew that after a fairly stressful move I was bound to have a few spots that would need tending. I was fast running out of my La Roche Posay  Effaclar AI (€14), and I didn't want to be without something to attack the blighters that would be erupting on my visage. This checked all the preliminary boxes and hell, if it dissappointed, then it was only £1.50 that I was binning.

Happily, this is actually pretty good stuff and it is £1.50 pretty well spent.

Says elf:
"Fight blemishes with the unique blend of Salicylic Acid, Tea Tree Oil, Witch Hazel and Camphor.
This special clear formula helps to fight and prevent acne, reduce redness and swelling, minimize pore size and clear skin"

Says me:
YAY!!! It works!!!

The ingredients are listed as follows:
ACTIVE INGREDIENT: Salicylic Acid 1%
OTHER INGREDIENTS: Water, Witch Hazel (Hamamelis virginiana) Distillate, Alcohol, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Polyacrylamide, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Laureth-7, Cinnamomum Camphora (Camphor) Bark Oil

The roller ball applicator is small, so it can target spots precisely, it lets out just the right amount of product and the formula dries clear. No shininess or funny white patches here.

They recommend that you use this at night, but it held up really well under my foundation and concealer during the day without oxidising or flaking. I also used it when I remembered during the day and I found its cooling (due to the camphor bark oil and tee tree) soothing (thanks witch hazel) formula reduced the redness (salicylic acid deserves the shout out for this) and the swelling. It also seemed to speed up the healing time / clearing up time.

It smells pleasantly medicinal, slightly like tea-tree, not over powering. It will sting if the skin is broken. So my advice: DONT PICK! Use this as soon as you feel the bump or prickle or stirrings under you skin.

before drying...

Zit Zapper seems to be selling well, the last two times I have been on the elf site the product has been out of stock, which must count for something.

I am deffo getting another one of these to pop into my travel bag, as soon as they are back in stock that is.
