my first one...

Feeling pretty home sick this week, I decided to treat myself. November 2011's Marie Clare had a freebie of a  brand that I had been lusting after for a while. Mine contained a 30ml tube of L'Occitane Hibiscus Flower Hand Cream.

The mag also contained a sample sachet of the new Max Factor Ageless Elixir Foundation/Serum and a sachet of L'oreal Studio Secrets Primer. I haven't used either of them yet.

Reese Witherspoon graces the cover this month. And the mag is filled with a few well written articles. The Fashion is great (although they generally feature designer gear, there are one of two pieces that are reasonably priced). Their beauty and make-up articles are really useful though with plenty bits to suit all budgets.

I have a girl crush on Evan Rachel Wood. I loved her as Queen Sophie in True Blood. She photographs beautifully and gives a short, but eloquent edit for the mag. I am also jealous of her hair.

I always thought that the L'Occitane brand was a luxe one and a bit over priced, so I would look in the window, but never actually sampled anything. I am aware that £7.50/€10 for a hand cream doesn't sound totally unreasonable. But you only get 30 mls in the tube. I go through hand cream like its going out of fashion, so I would need one of these little tubes of goodness every week...not possible with two kids who want to do every extra curricular activity available.

I am totally loving this though. It's non greasy and sinks in fast. It smells so good I find myself sniffing my fingers and re-applying so that my hands smell divine.

I am really keen to try their other offerings, and I think I will be visiting my pharmacy (Macquillans Pharmacy, Blackrock, Dundalk) and treating myself to a full size of something for christmas...

I got my Magazine from my local Centra and paid €5.79 for it.

  2. I can't bring myself to buy the magazine!! I must've picked it up 3 or 4 times in the last few days and put it back again, had a magazine spree last week and swore I wouldn't buy any more until next month! GRRRR decisions...

  3. this one is a great read. I enjoyed all the articles, picked up a few god ideas for the wardrobe (although I am going to have to find knock-offs) and of course the hand cream is gorge!

  4. You just can't beat a good magazine freebie! I have a few of those L'Occitane handcreams kicking about that I got free with various mags. You're right though, they are TINY!
