shoe porn? never....

Having recently decided that its time to start wearing heels again (you can't gracefully run after a 3yr old toddler in 4inch or 6inch heels... well I can't), and with the kids now old enough to understand what "STOP!!!!" means, I started trawling the web looking for a pair of Nude(ish) Heels.

I immediately fell in love with these babies from the get go... Supposedly Kurt Geiger had a hand in designing them. Kurt Geiger? I love Mr G.
But at £75, they were way, way out of my league. But I kept a watch on them, frequently returning to the website to cyber stalk their suede asses.

Imagine my little happy dance (that I can do sitting down too, yes I am multi-talented) when they came on sale... down to £50... and down again to £35 and I finally bit the bullet and pushed the pay button when they hit £22. For a pair of Miss KG heels.

I almost felt the need to make a public announcement: (insert sexy lady voice-over voice here)
Ding ding ding " Ladies and Gentlemen, I have just gotten my mitts on the most beautiful shoes. Thank you for your attention, you may now return to your lives..."

Sigh.
Jessica Rabbit pose anyone?
I used to be able to run in heels. Heck I could do a 50m Sprint with my minutes book under one arm and a fully laden coffe/tea tray (with proper porcelain cups and saucers, coffee pot, milk jug and sugar bowl and a plate of biccies) for a meeting that I was 3 minutes late for. And arrive at said meeting with not a drop of water or milk spilled.

On moving to Ireland around 5 years ago, I gave away all my heels. I knew I wasn't going to be working in an office any time soon (it was decided that Himself would work and I would look after our then 18mth old Daughter) so I never gave it a second thought. I could positively KICK myself now.

Yes, that is my bed...

The Box arrived and I ripped it open and rushed upstairs to my mirror so that I could admire them on my feet. They fit like a dream. They don't rub. They don't slip. They don't pinch my toes.

But I cannot walk in them. The heel is too skinny and I keep falling over. My shins cramp. Horror: they are too high.
*SOB*. 5 years of Penneys Finest Flats (on sale at around €5) have not done me any favours.

So these photos are of them on my feet, on the bed. Which is where I will be wearing them until I teach myself to walk in heels again (or somebody buys me a segway).

Until then, I managed to bag another pair that have a much sturdier/chunkier/blockier heel (thanks Daddy for buying them for me).

Also from Penneys (€19.99) they come in black too. These are comfy enough to walk in as the heel isn't as high as the Miss KG ones. So these are my practice shoes.

Miss KG and Penneys
Yes I wear them around the house when no body is around.

Yes I hurridly change shoes when its time to go get the kids and yes I understand that this makes me completely mad.

But that's ok. I am learning to walk in heels and one day soon I will venture outside in my heels and my skirt and everybody will say: "Who does yer wan think she is, prancing round the town in heels fit to murder a man..."

  1. Those Miss KG ones were a bargain and a half, shame they're too difficult to walk in.

Both pairs of heels are great and you can't beat Penneys for cheap and cheerful shoes as fair as I'm concerned.
